The Spire GTX is the most lightweight shoe on our list but with that comes a price, as they are not the most durable shoe on our list. The Aerios series by Arcteryx are one of their most successful shoes with reason. At its core, they are a reliable shoe that are protective, waterproof, and are designed with great materials. These shoes particularly excel in technical terrain for which if you don’t know, is basically difficult terrain like rocks, loose surfaces, steep descenets, mud, and water for example. These Merrell Moab’s are not designed with long-distance in mind but instead are designed for shorter quality hikes and trails. The mesh lining that covers the shoe is very breathable and provides an incredibly durable and breezy mix to the shoe for every run. The sole is also very durable and is smartly designed to cushion any heavy impact that you would encounter on your adventures. These shoes are also highly recommended for beginners as they come at a really great price for the amount of quality and performance you get with them. Be warned that since this is a mesh shoe they are not really waterproof. That being said, these are a great entrance to the hiking world that will keep you going for miles. P.S Merril has other versions of this shoe (at a great price) that can provide water-resistant shoes.
