About EXFO
EXFO is a Québec City company founded in 1985. It makes test instruments and software used to check and monitor fibre optic, mobile and data centre networks. Telecom operators and network builders use its tools to make sure connections work properly, from the cable in the ground to the cloud.
Most people never see an EXFO product, but its work sits behind the internet and phone service many of us rely on every day. It is a good example of Quebec's strength in high-tech and optics. For students in engineering or physics, it is a local name worth knowing. The company is rooted in the capital's technology sector.
