On the Fence About Going Vegan? Try Aux Vivres!
The Benefits of Being Vegan
There are many benefits to choosing a vegan diet, or even just lessening the amount of animal products you choose in favour of vegan options.
Many people claim to have achieved significant weight loss by going vegan (although vegan chocolate exists, so…). The diet also tends to have a much lower carbon footprint than diets heavy in meat products. There is even some evidence that suggests the diet may lower the risk of certain cancers and prevent heart disease.
It can also be really delicious. No, seriously!
If you want proof that a vegan diet can be incredibly delicious, filling and even comforting, you have to plan a visit to Aux Vivres.
The food is just YUM!
A wide selection
You can start off with Thai tacos, pakoras, chapati, cornbread with guacamole or tempeh satay, then move on to a latke burger, a dragon bowl, a vegan gyro or BLT, chili, burrito plate or tempeh burger served with roasted potato wedges and coleslaw. They even make incredible vegan brunch featuring their take on huevos rancheros and golden pancakes with cashew cream. And you can wash it all down with one of their homemade smoothies or juices. The “Tonic” juice with apple, lemon and fresh ginger is soooo good.
But, of course, you can’t call anything comfort food without dessert! The spicy brownie cannot be missed and you’re really missing out if you don’t try the chocolate banana pie, a slice of “uncheesecake” or a maple flax cookie. It all pairs really well with a comforting vegan latte.
Vegan, Vegan Everywhere! ;)
Veganism is no longer a fringe diet. With more people paying attention to the food they eat, how it impacts their body and how it impacts the planet, amazing culinary advancements have been made in producing vegan recipes and menus that are absolutely delicious and satisfying. Aux Vivres is a perfect example.
