What’s so special about Revolution?

Revolution Hair Studio has been serving the lucky folks of Beaconsfield since 1987 and will soon be opening a new location in Montreal!

What’s so special about Revolution? Revolution is a trendy salon and beauty shop offering cut, colour, styling and a variety of hair treatments, as well as manicures, professional makeup application and waxing. The salon has a cozy, zen vibe, feel good atmosphere and amazing staff.

But there’s more to it than that. This family friendly salon is also incredibly eco conscious.

Going the extra green Mile

A typical hair salon produces a lot of waste. Leftover dye and chemical treatments, bottles, tubes and cans, foils and even hair typically end up in landfills or washed down the drain. It’s not something many of us think about when we settle in for a new look and a little pampering.

Green Circle Salons

Salons like Revolution are working to change that by taking part in Green Circle Salons, an organization that collects, recycles and repurposes salon waste. They even use the hair collected to manufacture special oil absorbent booms that clean up oil spills in the ocean. How cool is that!

Last year, the salon received a certificate thanking them for diverting 183 lbs of solid waste and 40 lbs of liquid waste, for a total of 223 lbs of waste that did not end up in a landfill or down a drain. That’s a huge accomplishment!

Taking their eco friendly approach a step further

Revolution takes their eco friendly approach a step further by exclusively offering KEVIN.MURPHY products. KEVIN.MURPHY is a high end hair care brand with a twist. The company actively seeks out ingredient suppliers that use micro cultivation, organic growing practices and/or ecologically sound wild harvesting techniques.

Ingredients sourced in this way result in products that not only have a lower impact on the environment, but have a huge (and positive) impact on the health, strength and appearance of your hair.

Offering hairdressing courses

After over 20 years on the West Island, Revolution Hair Studio owner, Tamara Rifai, will be opening a new location this April at 4219 Notre Dame Ouest in Montreal.

This new location will be more than a salon. It will also offer hairdressing courses though Tribeca Atelier. They will provide workshops to help hairdressers excel in the art and science of hairdressing and barbering, and advance their careers and expertise.

Workshops will include such topics as:

Skills bootcamp (cut and colour)
Balayage and foiling
Editorial shoot
Atelier collection
Colour theory
Business building

Classes will be open to individuals and groups at all experience levels.
