Apple Picking Montreal 2017
Where to go for apple picking?
Here is a list of the 4 spots to go apple picking that are not far from Montreal.
Apple Pie, apple crumble, apple jam, apple everything… Fall is definitely apple picking time.
With the leaves turning as red as the apples, fall is the prime time to get out of the city and go enjoy some time in the orchards.
Although Montreal does not have any orchards, there are plenty of them right outside of the city! So grab a jacket, a picnic basket, a camera and some friends, and off you go for a day outside of Montreal!
1. Potager Mont-Rouge Halte Gourmande – Pick your fruits and vegetables fresh from the farm
Would you like to have farm fresh fruits and vegetables you pick yourself? Potager Mont-Rouge Halte Gourmande is the place to go.
You can get fresh apples, strawberries, corn, tomatoes, eggplant, pumpkins, hot peppers, basil, pickles, kale, brussel sprouts, okra, broccoli, and cabbage just to name a few.
You can choose to pick them yourself fresh from the orchard or from their store. In their store you will also find homemade delicious apple potato donuts, spaghetti sauces, salsas, apple bread, honey, jams, apple butter, apple juice, maple syrup and a variety of tarts and pastries. Everything is made with a lot of love and care.
They even have workshops to show you how to preserve your tomatoes, make tomato sauce, fruit jams and more.
This is a place children love too! They have a small farm where you can feed the animals, a parc, a giant (huge) trampoline and a corn labyrinthe to enjoy. They will want to stay for hours!
Potager Mont-Rouge Halte Gourmande has received a lot of prizes and distinctions, here are just a few:
- Lauréat du prix DéfiOsentreprendre 2017, niveau local MRC de Rouville, catégorie bioalimentaire
- Lauréat prix Détermination 2017, concours LADN Montérégie
- Prix Bon coup en agroenvironnement 2017, UPA Montérégie
- Prix Relève Montérégie 2017, Union des producteurs agricoles Montérégie

2. Vergers Petit et Fils
Address: 1020 Chemin de la Montagne, Mont-Saint-Hilaire, QC J3G 4S6
Right at the foot of Mont St-Hilaire, you can enjoy a lovely scenery while picking apples in their orchards. Enjoy tractor rides, animal farms, hedge maze and more. If you get hungry, set foot in the Petit & Fils Pancake restaurant and enjoy their extensive menu. Or just buy some apple product in their little shop and go enjoy it on their picnic tables right outside of the orchards (I highly suggest their apple bread and apple butter).
3. Vergers La France
Address: 1020 Chemin de la Montagne, Mont-Saint-Hilaire, QC J3G 4S6
If you enjoy cider, this is the place to go! Tour their famous cider house. And try their international award winning ciders made right from the apples of their orchard! Enjoy apple picking in this famous orchard and bring back a few bottles of cider at the end of the day.
4. Quinn Farms
Address: 2495 Boulevard Perrot, L’Île-Perrot, QC J7V 8P4
Located 30 min away from Montreal, Quinn Farms offers apple picking. But that’s not all, you can also pick berries, squash and even choose your own Christmas tree!! This is the place to go if you want to skip a trip to the grocery store and instead buy some local products from this farm.
